The hickory flooring we ordered had some cracks that didn't appear on the surface, until you nailed it down or took a real good look at the back side before you did (and sometimes that didn't help) the crack would go through and come out on the top finished surface.

We absolutely love it. So far, we have not encountered any unusable boards. The Hickory is beautiful. Everytime we open a box it's like Christmas. Each board is unique, the millwork, color, and finish is superior. It exceeded our expectations.
