Thank you for choosing JASPER prefinished hardwood flooring. JASPER offers a twenty –five-year (25) warranty on AB Mix “select” prefinished hardwood flooring. Under the terms of this warranty, JASPER agrees to at its discretion either replace or repair manufacturing defects of any product covered by warranty and subject to the following conditions and exclusions.

Structural Defects

Hardwood floors are manufactured from natural material, which is obviously not perfect. The warranty covers any manufacturing defects and classification errors, as well as defects in stain and aluminum-oxide finish application. The accepted industry standard of a 5% margin of imperfection shall not be considered a structural defect under the terms of this warranty. This warranty doesn’t cover Rustic Grade hardwood flooring.

Wear

The UV aluminum oxide based finish has a twenty-five-year (25) limited warranty, from the date of purchase, against flaking, peeling and wearing through for as long as the original purchaser owns the house.

Warranty Conditions

The warranty applies only to prefinished hardwood flooring that has been installed and used strictly and exclusively for residential purposes, not for commercial or industrial use. In addition, the flooring must be installed in compliance with the installation and maintenance guide. Installation must be done by a specialist recommended by an authorized dealer for the warranty to be in effect.

Flooring Installation

The installer, before installation, must inspect boards. Any board nailed in place (installed) shall be considered as accepted by the installer and / or the buyer, and as such, can’t be deemed defective in manufacture, classification or finish, under this warranty. If unhappy with wood grade or product quality, halt installation and contact your distributor or retailer immediately. Boards having an apparent defect should be set aside and will be considered a part of the 5% accepted by the industry. Also, boards should, before installation, be exposed to the room’s temperature and humidity (45% and 55%) for 72 hours.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty applies only to the original buyer and is non-transferable. When making a claim, proof of purchase or a receipt is required.

The Warranty against wear excludes any damage caused by water of use of wet cleaning tools. Damage caused by lack of maintenance or negligence, marks or scratches from heavy blows, furniture, house pet’s nails, high-heels, rocks, sand and other abrasive, along with lack of adequate prevention or protection and excessive environmental condition are not covered under this warranty. Also, worn flooring must cover more than 10% of floor surface.

Moreover JASPER cannot guarantee its finish against fading due to normal wear. Discoloration from the sun is not covered under the warranty. To protect hardwood floors, it is recommended that felt pads, which should be cleaned or changed regularly, be glued to the bottom of furniture legs and that rugs be put in doorways, high traffic areas and places where water may be a problem (sinks). Wood expands and contracts with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. Even when property installed, slight gaps between boards may appear. These are not covered under warranty. This warranty doesn’t cover damage sustained during transport, storage, installation or by any other cause not expressly covered by the warranty as described herein. This warranty doesn’t cover labor costs or any other losses or expenses incurred as a result of a covered defect. The responsible or JASPER under the terms of the warranty, is limited to, at their discretion, replacing defective products or refunding the floor in question as covered under the warranty. No JASPER distributor, retailer, agent, salesperson or representative is authorized to modify, in any way, the conditions or duration of this warranty.

This warranty specifically replaces and excludes any other warranty in relation to JASPER including the legal warranty in jurisdiction where exclusion of such warranties may be provided for by law. Under no circumstances may the product buyer exercise any type of recourse what so ever against. JASPER except for conditions specifically for in this warranty.

 Warranty Claim Procedure

If you wish to the claim under warranty, first contact the authorized JASPER dealer where the flooring was purchased. Claims must be filed in writing and sent to JASPER or BUILDDIRECT within six (6) month of appearance of defect. JASPER reserves the right to inspect the product. No alteration, replacement or repair may be carried out during this thirty-day (30) period. Failure to comply with this stipulation will make the warranty null and void.
