Quarter Round – 0.75” x 0.75” x 94”
¼ Round is used to provide expansion area coverage where the existing wall base will remain in place. It can also be used by itself for a simple clean look or with Base Board.
If used by itself leave a space of 5/16”
If used in conjunction with baseboard (existing or installing) leave a space no more than ½” wide.
Base Board – 3.25” x 0.625” x 94”
Base Board (Wall Base, Skirting Board) is used to provide an eye-pleasing transition from the laminate floating floor surface to the adjacent wall while covering the expansion allowance along the perimeter walls. It can be used with the quarter round for a different look, this allows for a slightly wider expansion space as well, see quarter round description.
NOTES:
Requires an expansion space of 5/16”
T Molding – 1.565” x 0.5” x 94”
T-Molding (Transition Molding) is used to bridge expansions areas between floors of the equal height. Transition molding is to be used between two hard surfaces, it is not recommended for use between laminate and carpet. T Molding is used primarily between rooms.
T-Molding requires a space of 1” between the two surfaces. The track is placed in the center of the space.
Reducer Strip – 1.625” x 0.625” x 94”
Used to make the transition from the laminate flooring height to a flooring system of lesser height such as vinyl, tile or carpet. Reducer strip is used mostly between rooms.
Reducer Strip requires a space of 1” between the two surfaces. The track is placed in the center of the space.
For detailed instructions for the installation of the Reducer Strip see the Reducer Strip installation page.
End Cap – 1.3” x 0.625” x 94”
End Cap (Square Nose) is used to provide a smooth transition from the laminate flooring surface to sliding glass doors, floor to ceiling windows, bath tubs, showers, fireplaces, carpet and for ending the floor in an open area.
End cap requires a space of 1.125” (1 1/8”) between the surfaces. The track is placed in the center of the spacing.
Stair Nose – 2.375” x 0.75” x 94”
Stair Nose (Bull Nose) is used on steps where the laminate needs a smooth finish at the edge. Stair nose allows the floor to expand and contact as it naturally does while giving the step a clean and finished look. It is used primarily on stairs but can be used around “sunken” areas as well. For thicker floors use the Stair Nose shim to raise the start nose to match the floor height.
Stair Nose requires a space of 1.625” (1 5/8”) between the edge of the flooring and the edge of the stair riser.
U Track Thick – 94”
Used with End Cap, Reducer, and T Molding. This track is used for 9.5mm to .12.3mm flooring.
Shim – 94”
Used to raise the stair nose to fit floor thick nesses between 9.5 and 12.3mm.
Our moldings are carefully selected to be the closest match possible to our flooring. While the moldings are considered complimentary colors to the flooring they will not be an exact match. It is typical of the laminate industry that laminate flooring moldings and laminate flooring are produced by different suppliers using similar but not identical colors and patterns.
