The saltillo tiles received seem to be seconds at best. The contractor installing the floor for me is struggling to provide the necessary photo evidence of the number of damaged tiles since the cartons containing the tiles are lietrally falling apart. It would appear thet were stored outside in the elements. He believes he will end up with 20% of the times broken/damaged which will leave me short of completing the project. There are tiles mixed in with the batch that are 1/4 -1/2 inch larger than the others which is also troubling.

We have just started installing the tile (we will be using approx. 1625 SF plus waste) and of the 350 SF we have already installed we have come across only 1 broken tile and 1 where the sealer was really 'blobby'. Both of these will be cut to fit into the last row, so won't really be wasted. NOT BAD!!!
